Heat-Seeking camera could speed up infection diagnosis in kids

NCT ID NCT07388017

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study explores whether a high-resolution thermal camera can help doctors quickly detect infections in children's bones, joints, or soft tissues. About 30 children with suspected infections will have a 10-second video taken of the affected area to see if the temperature pattern matches infection. The goal is to find a faster, cheaper, and safer way to diagnose these serious infections without using radiation or sedation.
