Mindfulness phone calls aim to curb drinking and boost health for HIV patients

NCT ID NCT03974061

Summary

This study tested a brief phone-based therapy to help people living with HIV who drink at risky levels. The therapy used mindfulness and personal values to help participants reduce alcohol use, stick to their HIV medication, and manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. Researchers compared this new approach to a standard brief alcohol intervention in a small pilot trial.
