Mind and muscle: new approach for stubborn constipation

NCT ID NCT07488442

Summary

This study is testing whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy) to standard pelvic floor exercises helps adults with a specific type of chronic constipation called dyssynergic defecation. Researchers want to see if this combined approach improves constipation symptoms and related quality of life more than exercises alone. The study is recruiting 26 adults aged 18-55 who have had constipation for over a year.
