Mind-Body therapy trial offers hope for stubborn constipation

NCT ID NCT07488442

Summary

This study is testing whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy) to standard pelvic floor exercises helps people with a specific type of chronic constipation called dyssynergic defecation. Researchers will enroll 26 adults who have had constipation for over a year. They will measure changes in constipation severity and related symptoms to see if the combined approach is more effective.
