Paws for recovery: therapy dogs get trauma patients moving
NCT ID NCT07227181
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether walking with a therapy dog helps adult trauma patients move more during their hospital stay. Sixty-four patients each took two walks—one with a dog and one without—and reported their pain, anxiety, and motivation. The goal was to see if animal-assisted therapy can safely improve mobility and make recovery less stressful.
