First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tested whether the drug theophylline, combined with zinc tablets and smell training, could improve smell in people who lost it after a head injury. 158 adults who had not improved with standard treatments took part. One group received theophylline plus zinc and smell training, while the other got only zinc and training. The goal was to see if theophylline could help them identify and detect odors better after 24 weeks.
