New pill targets rare joint tumors in major clinical trial
NCT ID NCT05804045
Summary
This Phase 3 trial is testing whether an oral medication called ABSK021 (pimicotinib) can shrink tumors and improve symptoms in adults with tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), a rare, non-cancerous joint condition. The study will enroll 90 participants who cannot have their tumors surgically removed. Participants will initially receive either the active drug or a placebo for 24 weeks, then all eligible participants can receive the active drug in later phases to assess long-term effects on tumor size, pain, stiffness, and joint mobility.
