NCT ID NCT07189351
First seen Nov 01, 2025
Summary
This study compares two gentle manual therapies—Muscle Energy Technique and Bowen Therapy—to see which better reduces pain, improves neck movement, and lessens disability in people with text neck syndrome. 78 smartphone users aged 18-35 with neck pain for at least 6 months will receive one of the two treatments over 6 weeks. The goal is to find a more effective way to manage this modern condition.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show which hands-on therapy works better for easing neck pain and improving movement in people with text neck syndrome.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 78 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatments are not compared to a placebo or no treatment, so any benefits could be due to natural recovery or attention.
