Summary
This study tested if sending personalized text messages could help mothers pump breast milk more often and produce more milk for their critically ill newborns in the NICU. Researchers sent some mothers text messages with their breast milk sodium level—a simple biomarker linked to pumping frequency—along with general lactation tips. They compared these mothers to others who received only the general tips to see if the personalized feedback made a difference.
