Can daily texts reduce harmful thoughts? study tests simple support for LGBTQ+ community

NCT ID NCT07218861

Summary

This study tested whether brief, daily text messages could help reduce thoughts of self-harm among LGBTQ+ adults. Researchers enrolled 55 participants who had experienced recent self-harm thoughts or behaviors. Half received twice-daily affirming messages for two weeks, while the other half received no messages, to see if the supportive texts made a difference.
