New monitor could make surgery safer by timing muscle relaxants

NCT ID NCT07435792

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study will test a device called TetraGraph to see exactly how quickly the muscle relaxant rocuronium takes effect and wears off in 130 people having surgery. Doctors usually wait 60 seconds after giving the drug, but it doesn't always work that fast, which can make intubation harder. The goal is to improve timing and reduce breathing problems or throat injuries after surgery.
