New combo therapy aims to boost platelet counts in ITP patients
NCT ID NCT07065968
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 38 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding teriflunomide to high-dose dexamethasone works better than dexamethasone alone for adults newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system destroys platelets, causing bleeding. About 132 participants will receive either the combination or standard treatment. The goal is to see if more patients achieve a stable, safe platelet count without bleeding or rescue therapy.
