First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether a small device that sends mild electrical pulses through the skin (TENS) can reduce pain during labor. 132 first-time mothers with a single, full-term baby will try TENS or a fake device during active labor. The goal is to see if TENS safely lowers pain and improves the birth experience.
