First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests if a small device that sends mild electrical pulses (TENS) can help reduce pain during labor for first-time mothers. 132 women with full-term, single-baby pregnancies will try the device and a placebo (device off) in random order. The goal is to see if TENS lowers pain scores and improves the birth experience, while keeping both mom and baby safe.
