First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting a numbing medicine and steroids into tender spots can reduce pain from shingles better than standard antiviral drugs alone. It involves 136 adults with severe shingles pain for less than 90 days. The main goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of long-term nerve pain after one year.
