New drug tested for kids with painful constipation

Summary
This study looks at the long-term safety of tenapanor, a drug for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C), in children aged 6 to 17. About 150 kids who completed a prior study will take the drug and be monitored for side effects and heart health. The goal is to see if tenapanor is safe for ongoing use in this age group.
