First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This pilot study aims to understand how a temporo-masseteric nerve block (TMNB) injection affects bite force and jaw muscle activity. Twenty healthy adults aged 18-64 will receive the injection on one side of the jaw. Researchers will measure bite force distribution and muscle electrical activity before and after the injection, at 30 minutes, 2 hours, and 2 weeks. Participants will also share their experience. This study does not treat any disease; it gathers basic knowledge about the nerve block's effects.
