Phone calls could be key to diabetes control in ethiopia

NCT ID NCT07423351

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study will test whether regular phone calls from a nurse can help adults with diabetes in Ethiopia improve their blood sugar control, take their medication as prescribed, and learn more about managing their disease. About 320 patients from three hospitals will either receive usual care or usual care plus structured phone counseling every two weeks for three months. The goal is to see if this low-cost approach can reduce complications and hospital stays.
