NCT ID NCT06924814
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) headsets can help children aged 4-17 feel less anxious and in pain during minor procedures like lumbar punctures or heart catheterizations. About 200 kids will be randomly assigned to use a VR headset, an AR headset, or standard care (no tech). The goal is to see if these distractions reduce the need for medication and improve the overall experience.
