Tears may hold key to early Alzheimer's diagnosis

NCT ID NCT06661564

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study is looking for a simple, non-invasive way to diagnose Alzheimer's disease by testing tears. Researchers will collect tear samples from 90 participants (people with Alzheimer's and healthy volunteers) to measure specific proteins and fats. If successful, this could replace painful spinal taps and help detect the disease earlier.
