Can a gentle brain zap boost speech therapy for stroke survivors?

NCT ID NCT06010030

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether a mild electrical current applied to the brain, combined with speech therapy, can improve language skills in people who have trouble speaking after a stroke. About 200 adults with aphasia from left-sided brain damage will take part. The goal is to see if this approach helps them recover words and communication better than therapy alone.
