Summary
This study looked at 50 older adults (65+) who had major surgery to see if a computer-controlled sedation method (TCI) helps protect memory and thinking better than standard manual sedation. Participants' cognitive function was tested before and after surgery using a simple mental exam. The goal is to find safer ways to sedate elderly patients and reduce confusion or memory problems after an operation.
