New vaccine aims to speed up TB recovery and fight drug resistance
NCT ID NCT05455112
Summary
This study tested whether adding an experimental vaccine called RUTI to the standard antibiotic treatment for tuberculosis (TB) could help patients get better faster. The vaccine is designed to boost the body's immune response to help fight the TB bacteria, especially the hard-to-kill dormant forms. Researchers hoped this approach would speed up recovery and reduce the risk of the bacteria becoming resistant to the antibiotics.
