New device aims to stop strokes during common heart procedure

NCT ID NCT07276711

Summary

This study is testing a new device designed to catch and remove tiny bits of debris that can break loose during a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure (called TAVR). The goal is to see if this device is safe and can help prevent strokes and other complications. About 663 people with severe aortic valve narrowing will be randomly assigned to get the new device or a similar existing device during their TAVR procedure and followed for 30 days.
