Scientists track tartaric acid from wine to bloodstream
NCT ID NCT07394101
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at how tartaric acid, a natural compound in wine, grapes, and grape juice, is absorbed and processed by the body. Thirty healthy adults will consume each food source separately, then give blood and urine samples over 24 hours. The goal is to see if the food matrix affects how much tartaric acid enters the bloodstream. This is an observational study, not a treatment.
