First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking tamsulosin (a drug that relaxes the prostate) before and after a prostate biopsy can prevent serious urination problems. About 1,844 men will either take the drug or receive no preventive medication. The goal is to see if the drug reduces the need for emergency catheters and improves urinary symptoms.
