Doctors coach parents to talk to babies, aiming to boost early brain development

NCT ID NCT07132411

Summary

This study is testing a program called 'Talk With Me Baby' that trains pediatricians and nurses to coach parents on how to have more conversations with their infants during regular checkups. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost advice given in the doctor's office can help prevent language delays and support healthy development in young children. Researchers will follow 400 parent-child pairs from when the baby is 2 months old until they are 2 years old to measure changes in how much parents talk with their child and the child's language skills.
