Could Tai-Chi ease chemo fatigue? new trial investigates
NCT ID NCT07702409
First seen Jul 14, 2026 · Last updated Jul 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether practicing Tai-Chi can help reduce fatigue in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Participants are randomly assigned to either routine care alone or routine care plus Tai-Chi practice five times a week for three weeks. Fatigue levels are measured every three days to see if the gentle exercise makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Tai-Chi exercise (18 forms of Tai-Chi shibashi adapted from Yang's style)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease fatigue during chemotherapy for breast cancer patients.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early trial with 61 participants, and the lack of blinding may bias results. The benefit may be modest or not generalizable.
