NCT ID NCT06920641

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at whether tagatose, a low-calorie sweetener, can improve how the body handles sugar and boost good gut bacteria. 59 healthy adults with slightly high blood sugar or insulin resistance took tagatose or a placebo for 4 weeks each. Researchers measured blood sugar responses and stool samples to see if tagatose acts as a prebiotic.
