New stent could replace High-Risk surgery for aortic aneurysms

NCT ID NCT02989948

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a stent custom-modified by doctors can safely treat thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (bulging blood vessels in the chest and belly). About 80 people aged 50+ with large aneurysms will get the stent. The goal is to see if this less invasive approach works as well as or better than open surgery, with fewer complications.
