AI-Powered CT scans could replace costly PET scans for lung cancer

NCT ID NCT07243873

First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a computer can create a synthetic PET image from a regular CT scan to help diagnose and treat lung cancer more accurately. Researchers will enroll 10,000 people with non-small cell lung cancer to compare the synthetic images with real PET scans. If successful, this could make advanced imaging more accessible and reduce the need for extra scans.
