Vein viewer may spot hidden nerve disorder
NCT ID NCT07029191
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a device called ACCUVEIN, normally used to find veins for blood draws, can detect changes in veins when a person stands up. These changes are controlled by the autonomic nervous system, which often malfunctions in conditions like diabetes. If successful, ACCUVEIN could become a simple, quick tool to diagnose dysautonomia, a condition that is currently hard to detect. The study involved 12 healthy adults and measured vein responses during a standing test.
