First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study compares three different swallowing exercises (Mendelsohn maneuver, effortful swallow training, and Shaker exercise) to see which works best for stroke patients who have trouble swallowing. About 104 adults who had a stroke and now have swallowing problems will be randomly assigned to one of the exercise groups. The goal is to improve their ability to swallow safely and reduce choking risk.
