Simple exercises may help stroke survivors swallow safely again
NCT ID NCT07271888
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares three different swallowing exercises (Mendelsohn maneuver, effortful swallow training, and Shaker exercise) to see which works best for stroke patients who have trouble swallowing. About 104 adults who had a stroke and now have swallowing problems will be randomly assigned to one of the exercise groups. The goal is to find the most effective way to help them eat, drink, and swallow more safely.
