Researchers hunt for clues in blood to predict surgical infections
NCT ID NCT04773457
Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients develop infections after surgery while others don't. Researchers will examine specific immune cells (neutrophils) in the blood of 220 patients undergoing gastrointestinal or spine surgery. By comparing patients who get infections with those who don't, they hope to identify patterns that could help predict infection risk.
