Surgery boost for lung cancer drug? new trial aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07177092

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether removing the main lung tumor before taking the targeted drug osimertinib can help people with advanced EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer live longer without the disease getting worse. About 118 adults with stage III-IV cancer who haven't had treatment before will be randomly assigned to get surgery plus the drug or the drug alone. The goal is to see if the combination delays cancer progression better than the drug by itself.
