Gentler surgery tested to fight anal cancer in HIV patients

NCT ID NCT02437851

Summary

This study is testing whether a minor surgical procedure can effectively treat very early-stage anal cancer in people living with HIV. Researchers want to see if removing just the small cancerous area is a safer option with fewer side effects than standard treatments like radiation and chemotherapy. The study will follow 16 participants for three years to check if the cancer returns or spreads.
