First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looks at two different surgeries for a condition called type A aortic intramural hematoma, where there is bleeding inside the wall of the main artery from the heart. The goal is to see if a less extensive surgery works as well as a more complex one in preventing the need for another procedure later. About 400 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgery groups and followed for up to a year.
