Ultrasound breakthrough: spotting cancer in lymph nodes without a needle?
NCT ID NCT05754814
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a new ultrasound technique to see the smallest blood vessels in lymph nodes on the neck. Researchers wanted to know if this method could help tell healthy lymph nodes apart from cancerous ones. Twenty adults with head and neck cancer, lymphoma, or healthy volunteers each had one ultrasound scan using both standard and new techniques. The goal was to see if the new method can create clear images of tiny vessels and measure their patterns, which might help diagnose cancer in the future.
