Nerve block may help stroke patients regain shoulder sense

NCT ID NCT07346755

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a nerve block (an injection to numb a specific nerve) can help stroke survivors with shoulder pain and poor joint awareness. About 40 adults who had a stroke and have shoulder pain will either get the nerve block plus physical therapy or physical therapy alone. Researchers will measure how well patients can sense their shoulder position, pain levels, and quality of life.
