First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looked at whether applying sunflower oil or olive oil to the diaper area can prevent diaper rash in hospitalized infants (0-24 months old) who are taking antibiotics. 150 babies were divided into three groups: one got sunflower oil, one got olive oil, and one got standard care. The oils were applied at each diaper change, and the babies were checked daily for 3-7 days to see if they developed a rash.
