First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying sunflower oil or olive oil to the diaper area can prevent diaper rash in hospitalized infants (0-24 months old) receiving antibiotics. 150 babies were split into three groups: sunflower oil, olive oil, or standard care. Oils were applied at each diaper change for 3-7 days. Researchers tracked how many babies developed a rash and how severe it was.
