NCT ID NCT04218968
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at how carvedilol, a drug used for heart conditions, affects brain scans in people who may be in the very early stages of Parkinson's disease. Researchers are following 15 participants with certain risk factors, like REM sleep behavior disorder, for three years to see if the drug changes dopamine levels in the brain. The goal is not to treat symptoms but to learn more about how Parkinson's develops before movement problems appear.
