Helicopter stroke study: can a simple arm cuff save brain tissue?

NCT ID NCT03481205

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special blood pressure device (Doctormate) can be used during helicopter transport to help stroke patients with blocked arteries. The device temporarily squeezes the arm to improve blood flow to the brain. The goal is to see if this is practical and safe for 10 patients being flown to a hospital for clot removal.
