New Brain-Training therapy shows promise for stroke Survivors' independence

NCT ID NCT04099511

Summary

This study tested a new type of rehabilitation therapy for people recovering from a recent stroke. It compared a 'metacognitive strategy training' approach, which teaches problem-solving skills for daily tasks, against standard occupational therapy. The goal was to see if this thinking-based training could help people perform activities of daily life better and improve arm and hand movement more effectively than usual care.
