New stroke therapy aims to limit brain damage after clot removal

Summary

This study tests a rapid procedure called local ischemic postconditioning, done right after doctors remove a blood clot from the brain in people with severe stroke. The goal is to see if it can reduce brain swelling and improve recovery at 90 days. About 448 adults aged 18–85 with large strokes will take part across 30 hospitals in China.
