Stretching showdown: which method builds better muscle balance?

NCT ID NCT07589712

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at how two types of stretching—proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and static stretching—affect the strength balance between hamstring and quadriceps muscles in healthy young men. Twenty-three physically active men did both stretching routines on separate days, and their muscle strength was measured right after. The goal was to understand immediate effects on muscle balance, not to treat any disease.
