First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tested three low-cost methods to help adults in Yomitan Village, Okinawa, reduce stress and adopt healthier habits. Forty-five adults with overweight or early metabolic syndrome were randomly assigned to receive health leaflets, wear functional clothing, or follow a simple exercise manual for eight weeks. Researchers measured changes in fatigue, mood, sleep, and heart rate using a smart ring. The goal was to see if these approaches are practical and acceptable for everyday life, paving the way for larger community health programs.
