First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether stress hormones in the fluid around dental implants are linked to gum disease. Researchers measured cortisol, DHEA, and other markers in 62 adults with healthy or diseased implants. They also used questionnaires to check anxiety and depression levels. The goal was to understand the connection between stress and implant health, not to test a treatment.
