Stress hormones linked to dental implant problems?

NCT ID NCT07353515

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at whether stress hormones in the fluid around dental implants are linked to gum disease. Researchers measured cortisol, DHEA, and other markers in 62 adults with healthy implants, mild gum inflammation, or more serious implant-related gum disease. They also used questionnaires to assess anxiety and depression. The goal was to better understand how stress might affect implant health, not to test a new treatment.
